*Month of July
* The City Beautiful Commission will start hosting information seminars pertaining to gardens on a personal and community level. The first seminar is Tuesday July 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Millington Civic Center, the topic will be Lawn Equipment Maintenance. There is no charge for the seminars. * Crossroads Hospice will offer a Grief Recovery Program, that helps people move beyond the pain of any loss and achieve healing. This comprehensive program starts on July 8 at Crossroads Hospice (1669 Shelby Oaks Drive, Suite No. 106, Memphis). The program is offered twice, once from 1 -- 2:30 p.m. and again from 6 -- 7:30 p.m. Sessions are every Tuesday for 12 weeks. There is a nominal fee for materials. * The Bolton Wildcat 11s Competitive Baseball team has a new coach with 30 years of experience. Coach Harrison is looking for a few good players for the fall 2008 season. * The Gospel Music Showcase will take place 7:30 p.m. in the Strand Music Hall at 7979 Wilkinsville Road. For more information, call the Strand at 872-1420.
* Millington TOPS Chapter 366 will have its weekly meeting in the Millington Civic Center. TOPS is a weight-loss support group that emphasizes sensible eating and exercise programs. * The Disabled Veterans of America Chapter 116 and The Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Unit 116 will have a potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. and its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. in Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7175 at 4681 Cuba Millington Road.
