LILLIAN LOVELACE BLOUNT
Lillian Lovelace Blount, 90, of Bartlett, died July 14, 2008. Services were July 18. She was a former member of Bellevue and Raleigh Baptist Church. She follows her husband, Willard H. Blount, Sr., and son, Willard H. Blount II. She leaves her daughter, Donna Crutcher of Bartlett; two nieces; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.PEGGY L. BOARDMAN
Peggy Boardman, 73, of Memphis, died July 10, 2008. Services were July 14. She was a retired bookkeeper and member of Bartlett Woods Church of Christ. The widow of Thomas F. Boardman, she leaves her son, Tony Boardman of Memphis, and brothers, Larry, Jim and Pat, and David and Cheryl Lambert, all of Sikeston, Mo. Jack Burrows, died July 8, 2008. He was a retired Dairyman. Services were July 12. He follows his parents, Hunter and Dorothy Burrows; two brothers; two sisters; and son, Jack Daniel Burrows. Betty Lee Connell, 84, of Cordova, formerly of Rome, Ga., died July 9, 2008. Services were July 14. She was born in Big Stone Gap, Va., to Julia Louise Stewart and Clifton Wilson. She follows her husband, Dr. H.R. Connell. She leaves her daughter, Jennifer McCleary and husband Rob, and granddaughters, Kimberly and Allison McCleary, all of Bartlett. Jessie Y. Deavers, 71, of Memphis, died July 13, 2008. Services were July 16. She leaves her daughters, Theresa McNinch and Danny of Lakeland and Tammy Paoni and Nick of Byhalia, Miss.; sons, Michael Carpenter of Memphis, who was also her caregiver, and Mark Carpenter and Judy of Panama City Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two sisters; three brothers; and many other family members and friends.

John K. Greenslade, 46, died July 8, 2008. Services were July 13. He was an usher at The Pentecostal Church, volunteered for the Ronald McDonald House ministries, and was completing a degree in Criminal Justice. He leaves his daughter, Christin G. Barnhouse and Ryan of Virginia Beach, Va.; son, Thomas J. Greenslade of Olive Branch; future granddaughter, Kendall Elizabeth Barnhouse; parents, Tom and Billie Greenslade of Bartlett; one sister; two nephews and one neice. Alton Eugene Layton, 63, of Memphis, formerly of Iuka, Miss., died July 10, 2008. Services were July 13. He grew up in Savannah, Tenn. He retired after 32 years of working for Shelby County Schools. He follows his parents, Mary and Gene Layton and brother, Doug Layton Sr. He leaves his wife, Edna Walker Layton; daughter, Tamra Gilchrist of Bartlett; four sisters, including Shirley Abernathy of Lakeland; stepmother, Talmar Murphy of Lakeland; and grandsons, Nicholas and Christopher Gilchrist of Bartlett.

Hazel Glenn Markham, 80, of Bartlett, formerly of West Memphis, Ark., died July 9, 2008. Services were July 11. She follows her son, Jim Robbins. She leaves her daughters, Ann Taylor of Tunica, Charla Mask of Arlington and Terri Bryson of Bartlett; son, Billy Lloyd Harlow of Robinsonville, Miss.; one sister; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Horace Mayfield, 75, of Bartlett, died July 9, 2008. Services were July 12. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. He retired from Gordon Transport, Inc. He leaves his wife of 56 years, Becky Mayfield; daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Rich Burke; grandson, Steven Burke of Richmond, Va.; one sister and two brothers. Make memorials to any charity.
ANDREW P. MUHTARIS
Andrew Muhtaris, 52, of Bartlett, died July 14, 2008. Services were July 19. He was born in Cyprus and moved to London to live and work with his older brother. He moved to Memphis in the late 1970s. He follows his mother, Eleni Muhtaris, and brother, George Muhtaris. He leaves his wife of nearly 25 years, Teresa Giglio Muhtaris; daughters, Amber Muhtaris Barber and husband Joshua of Memphis, and Courtney Muhtaris; grandsons, Noah and Landen Barber; father, Panayiotis Muhtaris of Memphis; two brothers; one brother- and sister-in-law; and 10 nieces and nephews. Charles Frank Nelson, 73, of Bartlett, died July 14, 2008. Services were July 17. He was a retired math teacher in Marion, Ark., and a U.S. Marine. He leaves his wife of 47 years, Regina; son, Mark Edward Nelson; daughter, Laura Nelson Cox and Brian; grandchildren, Kenneth Charles and Lucas Brian Cox; all of Bartlett; and one brother and sister. BRENDA McLAIN SANDLIN
Brenda McLain Sandlin, 63, of Germantown, died July 10, 2008. Services were July 14. She graduated from Germantown High School. She loved traveling. She follows her husband, William Kenneth Sandlin. She leaves her daughter Michelle Smith and husband Paul and granddaughter AnnaBelle Alexis Smith, of Bartlett; five sisters; five brothers, including Chuck Vurmeister of Bartlett; one aunt; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
