*Support Groups, Bereavement Ministries. "Rainbow's" is for children in grades K-8; "Divorce and Beyond" is for adults going through separation or divorce; "Journey of Hope" is for adults grieving the loss of a loved one. Groups are led by nonprofessionals, but trained facilitators, who have experienced these feelings. The goal of these groups is to prevent sadness from permanently destroying lives. Divorce and Journey groups have an eight-week workshop twice a year, Fall & Spring, one evening a week. The Fall session will begin the first week in October. Groups are held in the Family Life Center on the St. Ann campus. 6529 Stage Road, Bartlett, 38133. September 4*The Memphis Oral School for the Deaf (MOSD) will hold the 2nd annual I Love You Celebration at The Esplanade Memphis (901 Cordova Station) from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. The event will help benefit the children at the school who have been affected by some type of hearing loss since birth or early childhood. The evening features exquisite dining, a display of works by local artist Danny Broadway and a live auction. A violin performance by the MOSD children will feature Justin Osmond, nephew of the famous musical couple Donny and Marie Osmond. Justin was diagnosed with hearing loss when he was an infant. *Solid Rock Baptist Church, 5893 Old Brownsville Rd., Bartlett, will hold a weekend Bible Conference, September 5 - 7. The topic will be the controversial subject of modern Bible versions. The seminar will be led by Rev. David Martin, B.D., M.B.S. He will explain why some churches use the King James Bible exclusively, and why he recommends that others do the same. *The Children's Museum of Memphis is extending its CMOM Family Nights. The museum is remaining open from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. on the first Friday of each month. 2525 Central Avenue.  Admission: $9 per person and free for museum members and children under one. *Ellendale United Methodist Women 3rd Annual Book Sale. 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. Special guest authors. *The American Lung Association's West Tennessee Asthma Walk will be held at Shelby Farms, located at 500 North Pine Lake Drive. The walk will raise funds for lung health education, advocacy, and research in West Tennessee. Registration is free. All participants who raise $100 will receive an official Asthma Walk T-shirt. Individual and team prizes will be awarded at various fundraising levels. The event includes a free asthma screening for all. *14th Annual Big Scoop Ice Cream Festival. 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. at AutoZone Park. Advance tickets are $5 and are available at Ronald McDonald House of Memphis and at all Schnucks locations. Admission is $7 per person at the door; children ages three and under get in free. "First Come First Served" complimentary parking available at the Toyota Center. All proceeds from the 14th Annual Big Scoop Ice Cream Festival benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Memphis.

*Whitten Memorial Baptist Church, 6773 Macon Rd, celebrates its 60th Anniversary. Service begins at 10:30 a.m, folloed by a Fellowship Meal and a time of remembrance. *Mountain Dulcimer for New Players, Mondays, September 8, 15, 22 from 7 - 8:20 p.m. at Union University, 2745 Hacks Cross Road, Germantown; $70 plus a $10 supply fee payable to the instructor on the first day of class. *All parents of children in or who may need special education are invited to attend a free workshop sponsored by The Arc of the Mid-South and STEP. The BASIC rights: A Parent's Introduction to Special Education will be held at the Raleigh Branch Library, 3157 Powers from 5 - 8 p.m. Each family will receive a Parent Manuel that includes Federal and State laws regarding Special Education and other helpful tools. *Know the Early Signs of a Heart Attack, 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m., part of a free lunch and learn series at Methodist North Hospital's Chest Pain Center, 3960 New Covington Pike. Matthew Smolin, M.D., a cardiologist with the Cardiovascular Physicians of Memphis, and Methodist North's team of specialists will explain how heart attacks happen and the early warning signs to watch for. *62nd Miss Memphis Scholarship Pageant. The Memphis Jaycees will host the pageant on October 11 at 6 p.m. at the Buckman Performing and Fine Arts Center at St. Mary's Episcopal School. Currently seeking contestants for all divisions. Princess and Teen divisions, ages 13-17. Entry fee: $150. Miss division, 17 year old seniors in high school through the age of 24. The winner will proceed to the Miss Tennessee Pageant in Jackson, Tenn. No entry fee at the Miss level. Contestant paperwork can be found online at www.missmemphispageant.com. *BPACC presents Say Goodnight Gracie. 8 p.m. The Life, Laughter and Love of George Burns and Gracie Allen starring Don McArt, is the hit Broadway play that invites the audience to spend a hilarious, heart-warming evening with the world's funniest centenarian.
