BOBBIE JEAN BAILEY

Bobbie Jean Bailey, 77, of Memphis, died October 21, 2008. Services were October 23. She was born in Sardis, Miss., and moved to Memphis where she worked tirelessly for many years. She was a member of Fountain of Truth Church in Bartlett. She follows her daughter, Paula Case; parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Alfred Herron; sister, Anita Ballard; brother, Alfred Herron; and grandson, Brett Yarbrough. She leaves her children, Bobbie Ann Beebe, Bill Yarbrough, Steve Yarbrough; sister, Jo Ann Bailey; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.WANDA LEE HARPER

Wanda Harper, 75, died October 20, 2008. Services were October 23. She follows her husband of 39 years, James Harper. She leaves her daughters, Joan and Ronald Lancaster, Johnnie Ann Lord, and Kathy and Perry Pounders; sons, Jackie Johnson II and Diane of Bartlett, and Jeffrey Johnson and Gisele; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; 11 surviving brothers and sisters. JOE HENSON

Joe Henson, 63, of Collierville, died October 23, 2008. Services were October 25. He was born in Ripley, Tenn. and was retired from Swedish Match of North America. He follows his son, Jeff Henson. He leaves his wife, Carolyn Henson; daughters, Vicki Jo Patterson and Steve, Amy Jo Pierce and Kelly, Amy DiGaetano and Michael, Kim Goddard of Bartlett; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. SHIRLEY GANN HORTON

Shirley Horton, 78, of Memphis, died October 22, 2008. Services were October 25. She was a retired real estate agent for Crye-Leike Realtors and a member of New Hope Christian Church of Bartlett. She follows her husband, Eldon Horton. She leaves her daughter, Lynette Horton of Bartlett; sons, Michael Horton and Phillip Horton; grandchildren, Alex and Nickolaus Horton; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Make memorials to New Hope Christian Church of Bartlett or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

LENTINE SNYDER JOYNER

Lentine Joyner, 84, died October 21, 2008. Services were October 24. She was a member of Ellendale Baptist Church where she was active in the Senior Choir and the XYZ Club. She leaves her husband, Bill Joyner; daughter, Patricia Joyner of Arlington; and sister, Nadine Snyder Gardner. She follows her parents, Mary and Adolphus Snyder; brothers, Jewel Snyder and Herman Snyder; and sister, Earline Carr. Make memorials to Ellendale Baptist Church Building Fund.

PAULINE G. MANNING

Pauline Manning, 92, died October 24, 2008. Services were October 27. She leaves her husband of 69 years, Joe Manning; daughters, LaWanda McCaskey of Bartlett and Janet Hall; sons, Jerry Manning and Jimmy Manning; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

MARTHA SELPH MURPHY

Martha Murphy, 62, of Bartlett, died October 20, 2008. Services were October 22. She was a retired attorney, loved to cook and made amazing meals including her famous Tollhouse cookies and homemade biscuits. She follows her husband, Kenneth Selph, and son, Logan Selph. She leaves her husband of 5 years, Edward Murphy; daughter, Dawn Huggins; sisters, Carol, Dean, Faye and Evelyn; granddaughters, Chete and Rachel; and dogs, Rascal and Sheba. The family would like to thank her niece, Anne Marie Yonce; devoted friends, Lateafa and Vicky Patton, and beloved brother-in-law, Kenneth Murphy and Dr. Michelle Shelton for their loving care. PAUL PATEY

Paul Patey, 85, died October 20, 2008. Services were October 23. He was a Baptist and a long time Shriner. He leaves his wife, Wilma Patey; daughters, Lynda McCarter of Bartlett and Janet Hagen; sister, Elsie Bingham; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Make memorials to The Shriners Childrens Hospital.

JAMES A. POOLE JR.

James Poole, 55, died October 26, 2008. Services were October 30. He follows his mother, Evelyn Poole. He leaves his wife, Tina Poole; daughter, Megan Poole; sons, Jimmy Poole III, Danny DeVaughn, and Dennis Claunch of Bartlett; father, James and Phyllis Poole, Sr.; brother, George Poole; and one grandchild. Make memorials to American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

JERRIE S. PORTER

Jerrie Porter, 64, of Lakeland, died October 24, 2008 after a long battle with cancer. Services were October 27. She was employed by Stuart Title of West Tennessee. A native of Memphis, she graduated from Sacred Heart High School and Siena College. She leaves her husband of over 20 years, William "Bill" Porter; son, Christopher Wicker and wife Marie Cleo; Virgil and niece Porter; brother-in-law and sister-in-law; step-daughter, Holly Rose and husband Todd Rose; and grandsons, Austin and Harrison. Make memorials to Pour Claire Nuns or the Salvation Army.

EVELYN GLORIA STRICKLAND

Evelyn Strickland, 81, died October 23, 2008. Services were October 27. She follows her husband, Winfred Strickland, and son, Billy Strickland. She leaves her daughters, Linda Walls and David, and Mary Joe Street and Kenny of Bartlett; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Make memorials to a charity of the donor's choice.

EARL JUNIOR VANCE

Earl Vance, 68, of Cordova and formerly of Richmond and Midlothian, Va., died October 24, 2008.  He follows one sister.He leaves his wife of 46 years, Irma Pettus Vance; sons, Steven Vance of Arlington and Matthew Vance; daughter-in-law, Lori Vance; son-in-law, Paul Duff; granddaughters, Sara and Katherine Vance; and two sisters and two brothers. Make memorials to the American Cancer Society.

EUGENE 'Gene' R. WELLS

Eugene Wells, 86, of Bartlett, died October 21, 2008. Services were October 23. He was a retired Memphis firefighter and military police officer for the Air National Guard. He follows his brothers, Junior and Ralph Wells. He leaves his wife of 33 years, Marie Wells; daughters, Renae Taylor and Kerri Ferguson; and grandchildren, Dylan Chase Ferguson, Amy, Jeremy and Carla.
