Cops Corner
The City of Bartlett will be celebrating Independence Day on Friday July 3, 2009. The location again will be on Appling Road in front of the Bartlett Performing Arts Center. The road will be closed to traffic starting at 4:00pm with the event scheduled to begin at 6:30pm. This has grown to be the second largest event for the city second only to the Christmas Parade. Literally this is a combined effort of ALL City Services to make this a safe and memorable event that is geared to the family. Please be responsible as adults and refrain from drinking alcohol while at this event.
Scotsman walks for charity
June 18, 2009 -- Super Scotsman Rob Calder, a 32 year old bagpiper from Edinburgh, is piping his away across the United States for charity. Calder will spend six weeks "busking" -- playing his bagpipes for tips in public -- from coast to coast, rain or shine, relying on the kindness of locals and people of Scots descent to host him along the way. He will also offer a piping performance for room and board or a charitable donation.
